The
1st Annual Florida Dirt Bowl will be held on October 25th and November
8th at the North Florida Speedway. It's sole purpose is to recognize
those men and women who have dedicated a good deal of their time
to DIRT RACING. While the costs of running a car on a dirt track
has far outpaced the monetary gains, still they come, providing
us with wholesome entertainment which cannot be replicated by television
and can never be replaced. Most drivers and crews don't break even,
let alone profit from their efforts. Still they come......
This
year, our goal is to raise $20,000.
This money will be given away in addition to the regular payout
the drivers receive, which barely pays for the cost of fuel to run
these cars. Its the fans and dirt racing enthusiasts way of saying
Thanks... It's our way of fighting
to keep a struggling sport from fading away into obscurity. THESE
are our Glory Days.
